About the Authors
Co-author Charlene Caprio lived in the Rahes region of Ikaria, and has worked on many environmental conservation projects in Greece. Currently based in the United States, she often returns to Ikaria to walk its footpaths, reunite with Ikarian friends and enjoy the local food and wine. Charlene studied in Greece and has written about cultural property law. She is also writing a mystery novel that takes place in Greece.
Co-author Lefteris Tsouris is a cartographer who lives in Greece and in Sweden and makes various maps for the world but especially mountain maps for Greece. As a cartographer he walks, stops, meets, listens and breathes in the details of the places that he maps. He is the founder of “Geopsis” (www.geopsis.com), and capable of creating maps for any location in the world. Lefteris enjoys mountaineering, hiking and gardening.
Photographer Peter Wan enjoys the challenges and rewards of travel photography, from capturing temporal and natural moments to documenting objects and beings in situ. Besides Ikaria, he has photographed Iceland and parts of South America and Antarctica. He also enjoys photographing motorsports, landscapes, architecture and family events.
